Sporting Lisbon and Benfica both earned wins, while Guimaraes suffered an embarassing 5-0 defeat to FC Porto.  Luisao and Cardozo both scored for Benfica, who also made headlines for asking for £12 million for Luisao for the transfer to Pompey.  With that performance few people in Portugal want to see Guimaraes representing La Liga in the Champions League — or anywhere else for that matter.  They now stand tied in points, down in goals versus Sporting with one week left. Leixoes took a big step toward avoiding relegation with a win while Pacos de Ferreira suffered a defeat.
